Update from Administrator 1-24-22
DATE: 01/24/2022
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We have one additional resident who tested positive for COVID on last week’s testing. This brings our total for 2022 to three residents. All other resident test results from Thursday and Friday are in and are negative. We also have two additional staff cases to report from last week’s testing.
We will continue to test all staff and residents twice per week until we have 14 days with no new cases. The more accurate PCR viral test results are very slow in coming back due to the incredibly high number of tests being conducted by the lab. To help us stay on top of potential cases we also continue to do frequent rapid tests.
As stated in the previous letters, Federal guidelines allow for residents to continue to have visitors during outbreaks of the virus. Each person should evaluate their level of risk, particularly if it is with a resident who is ill or is quarantining due to exposure. It is critical that visitors and residents wear personal protective equipment when visiting with residents who are in isolation or quarantine. We encourage you to wear N95 or KN95 masks if you have them or we will provide a medical grade surgical mask. Please follow all instructions from staff for your safety and the health and safety of all residents, staff and visitors.
We are able to accommodate video and phone call visits if safety is a concern. Visitors may want to call ahead to find out if the person you are visiting is on a quarantine and adjust your plans accordingly. We recognize the importance of family and friends and encourage contact through safe visits, letters, phone calls and video visits.
I will keep you informed of case counts and any other developments. Please be sure to mask when out among others and stay up to date on vaccinations. If you are due for a booster I urge you to get one. Those who are vaccinated are much less likely to require hospitalization than those who are not vaccinated. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns!
Stay well,
Linda Smith NHA
