Music & Memory
Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center and Retirement Home was among 100 nursing homes in 2013 in the state of Wisconsin that was chosen to be certified to take part in a new project that uses personalized music to assist residents with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. By listening to their favorite songs, residents are able to recall memories that haven’t been lost to their disease.
Jessica Byom and Linda Fabry are the two certified music and memory specialists at Rolling Hills. They are pictured with all the equipment that they received through a state grant and have been implementing this wonderful activity for our residents with dementia at Rolling Hills.
Volunteer at Rolling Hills
The Rolling Hills Volunteer Program offers an opportunity to acquire new skills while broadening your knowledge and interests. Our volunteers have the opportunity to make friends and become contributing members of our community. These opportunities are available for those who are willing to donate their time and talents. The goal of the Volunteer Program is to help provide social, recreational, religious, and leisure activities that enrich the lives of our Residents.
There is something for every individual, group and organization that wishes to help. Events are held daily, weekly, monthly or annually and every effort is made to place a volunteer in a service area of their choice.
Check out our upcoming events at Rolling Hills including resident activities like balloon volley ball and fishing trips to some of our beautiful local waters. We schedule a variety of events at Rolling Hills and travel with our residents to local events and entertainment destinations. Family members and volunteers are invited to many of these events- check out our events page for more information.
