Resident Activities Available at Rolling Hills

Keeping Residents as Active as Possible
The Activities Program at Rolling Hills is directed by our Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. The program helps provide ongoing meaningful activities that are appropriately suited to the needs and interests of our residents. These activities help our residents engage physical activity and also promote intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual health.
The Activities Program provides challenges and opportunities in a planned, coordinated, and structured manner to encourage the continuation of normal activities and an optimal level of daily functionality. By utilizing this program, residents are able to help avoid the need for rehabilitation and therapy. The Activity Staff utilizes recreational, educational, leisure and community resources under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator to assist residents in achieving their optimal level of functionality.
To do this, the Activity Staff takes the time to get to know residents and their unique individual situations by talking with each resident and their family members to learn about resident interests, music preferences and abilities. The staff also documents each resident’s involvement and response to activities to track progress and plan for future activities. With this information, an individual Activity Plan of Care is created and utilized for each resident.
See our employment page to check our information on our Activities Program Internship.
“The lives of the residents are touched daily by the activity department. I have been fortunate to have worked alongside each of you. The time that I spent at Rolling Hills as affirmed my decision to work in a long term care setting. Thank you for everything!”
