We begin by mentioning the birthdays that will be celebrated this month including Arnie, Maryann, Vern and Vera. Then we started talking about the variety of things we did during October. We want to thank St. John’s Lutheran church and school for the wonderful meal and Octoberfest celebration. We also like to say thanks to all our entertainers including Paul, Country Survivor’s, Frank, Tim, Myron and the Therday band. A few of us did some karaoke and when no one would step up to the microphone, we all sang the songs together this past month.
We had a wonderful turnout for the Fall bazaar. As we went shopping at the vendors or had lunch with our families we were surprised by how many people came to support us. The staff said we did well and the money raised continues to support what we enjoy, like listening to music, playing games, trying new things and keeping up with our hobbies. The baked goods were delicious, so we hope you had an opportunity to eat some and we also hope you had some good buys as well if you came.
Some talked about the breakfast club that met this month. The staff always do such a great job preparing a meal to order!
The trees this time of year are also beautiful and some of our group had the chance to go on a scenic drive in the Tomah area to check out the colors and sights.
Because we enjoy baking, one afternoon we got together to make some chocolate chip cookies and enjoyed the results with a glass of milk or coffee.
We were happy to play bingo with the kids from St. Patrick’s this past month. We had fun trying to win tootsie rolls! We always enjoy playing bingo and also did this with a volunteer group, activity staff and the Lion’s club.
We are looking forward to the Mennonites coming for Fellowship as well as our furry friends that visit. We also cannot forget to mention Kathy, who comes to play cards and create laughter on Wednesday afternoons!
As it nears the end of October, we started discussing our costume plans, since we have a Halloween costume contest coming up. That led to a discussion of how excited we are for the trick or treaters to stop by our home. We always enjoy the costumes and smiling faces! We are not, however, looking forward to the cold weather season! We still love Wisconsin though and do think it is the best place to live!
