Rolling Hills News For September
Written by the residents
We’re wishing all of those with September birthdays a very Happy Birthday: Paul M, Rita B, Jerry S, Millie B, Marian C, Andy L and Dianne B.
Thank you to all of our volunteers that come an assist us with various activities and leisure, especially all our pet therapy pals. We always enjoy the visits. Also, thank you to everyone who comes to share their musical talents with us. We always look forward to the entertainment programs: Paul, Country Survivors, Myron, Frank, Paul, Laurel, Tim, the Thersday Band, Nell, and our harp music.
Our last picnic day was a success and it was a beautiful day with nice music. We’re sad that it was our last picnic of the year, but now we can look forward to next year’s. Some of us had fun going to the Concert in the Park this month as well. Leather and Lace was playing and they sounded wonderful. Our International Garden outing got rained out, so we drove around Sparta and Tomah and went for ice cream instead. As usual, some of us went to WalMart to do some shopping and others went for a scenic ride. For meal outings this month, some of us got to enjoy breakfast, and others lunch, both at the Family Restaurant. We had a beautiful day for Root Beer Floats on our patio last week, and this was enjoyed by many. With summer ending, we had our last Ice Cream Truck run in August. We all enjoy the different varieties of ice cream offered, and it reminds us of the ice cream truck when we were younger – even has the music playing! We are sad to see summer come to an end along with all of these fun summer activities, but now we have next summer to look forward to.
With fall approaching, we have already begun thinking about our Annual Scarecrow Walk and Annual Bazaar. The Scarecrow Walk and judging will be held on September 28th. We are excited for this event, and is fun to watch what all the different organizations and individuals come up with for scarecrows. We can’t wait to see who in our city join in the fun. Our Annual Bazaar will be held Friday October 13th this year. We have already started baking in preparation for the baked goods sale this day. Many of us are looking forward to this annual event, and are excited for all the different vendors coming this year. So for all those interested, mark your calendars!
