We always begin by wishing our friends a Happy Birthday in March: Don, Lucille, Carol, Ivan, Doris and Fred.
February has been a sweet month. We baked Valentine’s cookies, made a variety of muffins and sampled Girl Scout cookies. Blueberry was our favorite muffin. We also thought the Girl Scout Cookies taste better than what they did when we were kids! One of our ladies, who states she is 104, recalled her days as one of the first girl scouts. She said that back then, the families made the cookies. We also were treated to some cookies from the Lioness’s that provided a delightful Valentine’s Day game.
We are always thankful for those that provide us music. We enjoyed Tim, Nell, Frank, Myron and the Counter Parts Band this past month.
We also talked about one of our favorite activities, playing bingo, and how we really appreciate our many volunteers that make that happen, including the Lion’s club and St. Patrick’s students that have been coming monthly.
Who can forget our furry friends? We made sure to get in our cuddles, watch some tricks and accept the kisses from Hemi, Keota and Josie.
Other things we talked about were our Music and Art projects, going shopping, playing cards with Kathy-that can get wild at times and exercising. We even used a parachute and love batting at balloons with pool noodles!
For some extra fun, we had “Laughter is the Best Medicine”. We heard jokes, shared funny stories and watched some funny videos as well. The one that brought the most laughter, was a test drive clip. Check it out on You Tube: Pepsi Max and Jeff Gordon “test drive”.
We want to always thank our many volunteers that help many of us during the fun activities. We are happy to have Dianne back safe from vacation and back to leading us in devotions and singing hymns again. This month was also nice having the Sparta Area Young Professionals come to play games with us too.
We are looking forward to March. We hope it brings warmer weather, more sunshine and if we are lucky, a pot of gold for St. Patty’s Day!
