Update from the Administrator 3-26-23
DATE: 03/26/2023
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
I have 3 additional staff COVID-19 cases to report from testing conducted on Friday. The longer PCR tests take a few days to get result. We are conducting frequent testing to identify individuals who may have COVID but have no symptoms yet. This includes rapid tests which yield quicker results but may not be as accurate, especially if the person does not have symptoms and the more accurate, but more time consuming PCR tests. The total staff count from the past week is 7.
We have no new resident COVID cases to report through Sunday, 3/26/23. All tests results are in from Thursday and Friday testing. Our total number of residents with COVID remains at 15. We will conduct additional testing of residents and staff throughout the coming week to identify any additional cases. If a resident is diagnosed with COVID we provide notification as soon as we receive the results. Remember no news is good news on your test results but feel free to ask for your results at anytime!
Staff are working hard to ensure all residents are receiving good care, nutritious meals and the facility is cleaned and disinfected often. We appreciate your patience if there is a bit more of a wait for some requests. Thank you to residents and families for being so understanding and supportive!
Residents may still have visitors, however, it is important to understand that there is significant risk of being exposed to COVID. Visitors that still choose to come into the facility should be very cautious and follow all safety guidelines including wearing a mask over your nose and mouth at all times, hand sanitizing before and after visiting and maintaining a safe distance from other residents and staff. Residents with COVID should not go out into the community until they have recovered and are no longer considered to be contagious.
We can assist with phone or video calls and extra letters are a great way to stay in touch if you aren’t able to visit in person. Please contact the social worker or the unit staff if you want to coordinate a call.
If you have any questions or concerns please reach out.
Stay well,
Linda Smith LNHA
