Update from the Administrator 12-22-2020
DATE: 12/22/2020
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We had one staff person test positive for COVID-19 this week. That person developed minor symptoms and is isolating at home. There were no known resident exposures to this staff person as personal protective equipment was used at all times.
We continue with testing staff twice per week and residents once per week while the Monroe County rate of infections remain high. We also continue to screen staff and monitor for symptoms in residents. We will do additional testing if any individual shows symptoms and immediately isolate those individuals.
Our first COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held on January 7th. Walgreens will be on-site giving the Moderna Vaccine to residents and staff who wish to receive it. It is very important to let us know if you/ your resident want to receive the vaccination! Written consents have gone out in the mail, however, with the holidays, mail may be delayed. Please respond to the email or call the facility to speak to the social worker or nurse to get your resident on the list. We have to inform Walgreens about the number of people being vaccinated in advance of the clinic. This vaccination requires two doses to get the best immune response. The second flu clinic is tentatively scheduled for February 8th. If the resident is unable to get the vaccine on the first date they will be able to start the series on February 8th.
Please reach out with any questions!
Sincerely,
Linda Smith NHA
