Update from the Administrator 1-20-22
DATE: 01/20/2022
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We have been notified that another resident tested positive for COVID during testing on 1/17. The resident has no symptoms and is on isolation. We also have three more staff cases to report since yesterday. We continue to test all staff and residents to identify and isolate anyone with the virus. We are using a combination of rapid and PCR tests to obtain the quickest and most accurate results. We have been in consultation with the Department of Health Services regional infection preventionist to ensure that we have all health measures in place.
Federal guidelines allow for residents to continue to have visitors during outbreaks of the virus. Each person should evaluate their level of risk, particularly if it is with a resident who is ill or is quarantining due to exposure. It is critical that visitors and residents wear personal protective equipment when visiting with residents who are in isolation or quarantine. We encourage you to wear N95 or KN95 masks if you have them or we will provide a medical grade surgical mask. Please follow all instructions from staff for your safety and the health and safety of all residents, staff and visitors.
We are able to accommodate video and phone call visits if safety is a concern. Visitors may want to call ahead to find out if the person you are visiting is on a quarantine and adjust your plans accordingly. We recognize the importance of family and friends and encourage contact through safe visits, letters, phone calls and video visits.
Monroe County and most of Wisconsin remain in a critically high level of community spread of COVID-19. Please use caution and wear a mask when out in the community. I will keep you informed of case counts and any other developments. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns!
Stay well,
Linda Smith NHA
