Update from Administrator 1-18-22
DATE: 01/18/2022
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We had one resident test positive on a rapid test on 01/17/22. The resident is on isolation and the unit is on quarantine. All residents on that unit were rapid tested and were negative. The more sensitive PCR tests were done on all residents in the facility. Results from the PCR tests are delayed due to the extremely high volume of tests being conducted in the state. We were notified that a staff person tested positive from testing on 01/13/2022. We continue to do rapid tests in addition to PCR tests for anyone who is symptomatic, had an exposure and if we need results more quickly.
Federal guidelines allow for residents to continue to have visitors during outbreaks of the virus. It is important to know that there is risk to visiting, particularly if it is with a resident who is ill or is quarantining due to exposure. It is critical that visitors and residents wear personal protective equipment when visiting on quarantine units. Please follow all instructions from staff for your safety and the health and safety of all residents, staff and visitors. Rolling Hills will provide necessary PPE for all visitors. We are able to accommodate video and phone call visits if safety is a concern. Visitors may want to call ahead to find out if the person you are visiting is on a quarantined unit and adjust your plans accordingly. We recognize the importance of family and friends and encourage contact through safe visits, letters, phone calls and video visits.
We will continue to follow all health and safety protocols. The critically high level of COVID-19 in our area is contributing to the number of cases we are seeing. I will keep you informed of case counts and any other developments. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns!
Stay well,
Linda Smith NHA
