Update from Administrator 1-12-22
DATE: 01/12/2022
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We received notification yesterday that we had 2 positive staff tests and two additional positive staff today. The high number of tests being done across the state is causing delays in receiving results on the more sensitive PCR tests. We are supplementing our testing with rapid tests for anyone who is symptomatic, had an exposure or if we need results more quickly. All staff that test positive for coronavirus are taken off of work until they complete the appropriate isolation period and have a negative test as appropriate.
Staff are working very hard to ensure that good care is provided while we navigate having multiple staff out due to COVID. Many staff are working extra hours or assisting in other departments and with additional job duties. I can’t express how appreciative I am of all of our staff! I also want to thank the residents and families for being so patient and understanding. I am hopeful that this surge of cases will run its course soon and without any serious illness for staff and residents. We are seeing that vaccination and those with boosters are having relatively mild symptoms or no symptoms at all. If you are eligible for a booster or have not yet been vaccinated, I urge you to do so!
We will continue to follow all health and safety protocols to help prevent spread of the illness within our building. I will keep you informed of any other developments. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns!
Stay well,
Linda Smith NHA
