Update 4-3-23 from the Administrator
DATE: 04/03/2023
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
Nursing staff conducted rapid tests on many residents today in addition to PCR testing. We have no additional resident cases to report today from those rapid tests and it will be 2-3 days to receive results on the PCR tests. We had one staff person test positive for COVID today after developing symptoms.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in this outbreak is 28 residents and 15 staff. We continue to provide numbers for the entire community to keep everyone informed. The outbreak seems to be slowing and more residents are recovering. We are still at risk of additional cases popping up and we will remain in outbreak status until we are able to go 14 days with no new cases.
We are continuing to limit residents from moving between households to try to contain and control the spread of the virus. Staff assignments are also looked at and we are doing are best to keep direct care staff to the same units whenever possible. We will let you know when we are able to start opening things up again.
Visitors should continue to use caution when visiting and use all recommended personal protective equipment, good hand hygiene and keep a good distance for other residents and staff. Outdoor visits are a great idea if the warm weather decides to show up and actually sticks around!
I will continue to keep you informed as we work our way through this outbreak. Be sure to reach out if you have any questions or if there is something we can do to help you stay in touch with your loved ones.
Sincerely,
Linda Smith LNHA
