We begin by recognizing our friends celebrating their birthday in the month of June: Arlene, Nancy, Vicki, Janet, Belva, Paul and Sue.
We started out recalling all the events and things we took part in during May. We were treated to the Brookwood JH choir that caroled our halls, heard the country survivor’s band, polka’ d with Myron and Laurel, enjoyed bluegrass music with Prairie Dog Rehab and sang the oldies with the Sweet Notes. We also really loved Hans Mayer and how he interacted with the Meadowview 4th graders and loved all the instruments he played. We had a lot of laughs and smiles during his performance and our last visit with our students.
Many of us were able to get outside during the flower sale for one day. The rest were too cold, but we sure loved to see all the flowers and people stopping by to shop.
Some other notable activities we did were the Kentucky Derby Horse Races, visiting with our furry friends, playing games with Meadowview Middle school student council students, doing crafts and enjoying a meal from Culvers.
We took a trip to Espies pond to go fishing and take advantage of the nice weather one day. We all had some bites, but only one of us caught a fish!
The Celebration of Seniors was a great time too. It was a chance for many of us to get out into the community, enjoy a good meal and see some familiar faces.
We are excited for the month of June and upcoming events. One we are looking forward to is fiddle music and square dancing. When we talked about this, our conversations took off. We recalled how many of us used to go our dancing. We can’t wait to get to some concerts in the park, do some more fishing, have some picnics and enjoy the ice cream truck visits around our home too!
