Update from the Administrator 9/21/2022
DATE: 09/21/2022
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We had one staff person test positive for COVID-19 today. We are reviewing contacts to determine if there were any close contacts with residents and staff. We will do testing of all residents and staff identified to have had significant contacts as defined by CDC guidance.
We remain in outbreak status and are conducting frequent, routine testing of staff to identify any cases early to reduce the chance of transmission to residents. We also test all residents and staff who develop any symptoms. Staff are wearing masks at all times and residents are encouraged to wear masks when out of their room or when coming in close contact with others. Other infection prevention strategies are in place including disinfection of surfaces, good hand washing and use of hand sanitizer, and maintaining distance when possible.
Residents, staff and visitors are strongly encouraged to stay up to date with vaccinations against COVID. Vaccination provides the best defense against serious illness, hospitalization and death from COVID. Age, pre-existing medical conditions and certain medications may lower the immune system and put the individual at higher risk of contracting COVID and having a more serious illness. Using multiple strategies like vaccination, wearing a mask and good hand hygiene improves the odds of avoiding COVID and reduce the chance of serious illness.
Stay well,
Linda Smith NHA
