Update from the Administrator 8-5-2024
DATE: 08/05/2024
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We are currently experiencing an uptick in COVID-19 cases. As of today we have 4 staff, 3 nursing home residents and one Assisted Living tenant who have tested positive for COVID-19. We put infection control interventions in place over the past few days to try to contain the outbreak. We are testing residents and staff who may have been in contact with people with confirmed COVID as well as anyone who exhibits symptoms. We will be in outbreak status until we have 14 days with no new resident or staff cases.
All staff are masking at all times and staff are wearing full PPE when working with residents who have symptoms or have confirmed COVID-19. We continue to actively monitor residents for symptoms. Symptoms of COVID-19 include runny/stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, body aches, diarrhea, vomiting and headache. Residents should notify staff immediately if they are not feeling well.
Thank you to our visitors who are wearing masks when in our public spaces to help protect all of our residents! Masks may be removed when visiting in the room with the residents but please keep in mind the level of risk for your loved one and the wishes of the resident. If visiting outdoors, the masks may be off! Residents are at higher risk for severe illness so our focus is on reducing the risk for residents.
If visitors have any symptoms of illness they should postpone visiting until they are feeling better and symptoms are gone. We are happy to assist with phone calls if in person visits aren’t possible.
Best Regards,
Linda Smith LNHA
