Update from the Administrator 6-14-2021
DATE: 06/13/2021
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We have continued to conduct routine COVID testing of staff per current guidance. Testing was conducted on 6/10/2021 and we were notified today that one staff person tested positive for COVID-19. This staff person did not work in the past 14 days and had no resident contact. We will continue to conduct staff testing per the recommended guidance from the CDC and CMS. Residents do not need to be tested at this time. If any additional staff cases are identified in the next 14 days, residents will be tested.
Family visits will continue since there has been no known exposure within the facility. I do encourage you to call ahead when visiting to be sure that visiting areas are available and there are no restrictions in place. We are required to keep a log of all visitors and screen them for illness or recent exposure to other individuals who are ill or have tested positive for COVID recently. We do request contact information from all visitors to assist us should we need to contact them. Please share this with other relatives or friends who may be visiting. These measures are important for safety and we appreciate your cooperation!
We continue to strongly encourage and assist with arranging COVID vaccinations for staff and residents. Our current vaccination rate is 97% for residents and 77% for staff. We are still improving our vaccination rates as our younger employees have become eligible and as confidence in the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines improves. Wearing facemasks, good hand hygiene and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces are in place and are strong tools to help prevent spread of the virus.
I will continue to keep you informed of any developments. Please reach out with any questions or concerns!
Sincerely,
Linda Smith NHA
Administrator
