Update from the Administrator 11-24-2021
DATE: 11/24/2021
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We were notified today that we had a staff person test positive for COVID-19 during testing on 11/22. We are conducting contact tracing to determine if there are any significant staff or resident exposures to this individual.
We are testing all residents today and staff per CDC guidance. Follow up testing will continue until we are 14 days out from the last positive case. We will continue to monitor residents and staff for signs and symptoms of illness and implement additional testing and quarantine procedures as needed. All other precautions such as the use of masks, eye protection and distancing continue to be implemented to reduce the chance of spread of the virus within the facility.
We have had excellent participation with vaccinations. Currently 100% of residents are fully vaccinated and most have also received additional booster shots this month. 91% of our employees and contracted staff have received at least one dose of vaccine with over 85% fully vaccinated. A portion of staff have also started receiving the booster shot doses. On 12/6/21 all staff are required to have received at least one dose of vaccine or been granted a valid medical or religious exemption. By 1/4/22 all staff must have received all required doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in order to work at Rolling Hills.
Visitors are still allowed to come to the facility, however, we encourage visitors to call ahead when possible. This helps us to ensure that there are visiting areas available and staff are able to assist for screening in a timely fashion. We will continue to limit visitor access to resident rooms to special circumstances only and all other visits will take place in our visiting rooms. This policy will remain in effect until the community transmission rate declines into the low category. Currently Monroe County is considered high for COVID cases and community transmission rates.
I will continue to keep you informed of any developments. Please reach out with any questions or concerns!
Stay well,
Linda Smith NHA
