Update from the administrator 11/18/2020
DATE: 11/18/2020
Dear Residents and Representatives,
We were notified today that two resident COVID-19 tests were positive from our testing conducted on Monday, November 16th. We currently have four residents with active COVID infections. Those residents and their first contacts have been notified of the positive test results. Their attending physicians have also been notified and consulted for treatment plans. All of the residents who are positive for COVID resided on the same unit. All other residents on that living unit were negative when tested on Monday and have not had any symptoms. We have activated the COVID unit and the four positive residents have been moved. This will allow us to provide more individualized care and attention to those residents and will reduce the chance of transmission of the virus to other residents.
We have two additional staff positive tests as well. Those staff are isolating and recuperating at home. We will notify residents and the first family contact for any residents who we believe had an exposure to any positive individual. Any person with a significant exposure will be put on a 14 day quarantine. Testing will be done twice per week for all staff and at least weekly for all residents. Any individual, staff or resident, who develops possible symptoms will be tested immediately. It is critical that we identify people who have the virus as soon as possible to reduce the risk of transmission to others. The incubation period for COVID-19 is up to 14 days. This means that someone can test negative during that time frame and then test positive toward the end of that 14 days. We will be monitoring all residents closely and will provide updates to you as we are allowed while still following privacy regulations.
If you have questions or concerns please reach out.
Sincerely,
Linda Smith NHA
