Update from the Administrator 10-29-2020
DATE: 10/29/2020
Dear Residents and Representatives,
Residents tested for COVID-19 October 22nd and Oct 26th have all tested negative for the virus! We continue to monitor all residents for signs and symptoms of illness. We will be testing all residents weekly and as needed if symptoms develop while we remain in outbreak status with high community spread.
We were notified that we had one staff member test positive on October 22nd and two staff tested positive from the October 26th testing. Any staff person with symptoms or who tests positive is kept off of work until they have recovered and are cleared by the health department to return. We are screening staff for illness prior to work, wearing masks, eye protection and gloves with resident contacts and using full PPE (gowns, N95 respirators, eye protection, gloves) for all suspected and confirmed positive COVID residents. In addition if a resident tests positive full PPE is used with all other residents on that living area. All staff are being tested twice per week to catch any positive staff who may not have symptoms in an effort to prevent transmission of the virus to residents and coworkers.
We consult with our local health departments on each case and, when needed, the Wisconsin state epidemiologist for the criteria for determining “significant exposure”. We have not identified any significant resident exposures with the most recent staff cases. That being said we are continually monitoring resident condition just in case.
I will continue to keep you updated on the status of resident and staff test results. Please reach out if you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Linda Smith NHA
Administrator
