Update from the Administrator 10-23-2020
DATE: 10/23/2020
Dear Residents and Representatives,
Residents tested for COVID-19 October 19th have all tested negative for the virus!
Unfortunately, we were notified this week that two staff members tested positive. We have one staff person who received positive test results yesterday and one staff person today. The person from yesterday is symptomatic and is isolating at home. The second staff person has been off work on quarantine for several days since an exposure to a positive family member.
We consult with Monroe County Health Department on each case and, when needed, the Wisconsin state epidemiologist for the criteria for determining “significant exposure”. Based upon the guidance we have been provided and additional consultation yesterday we have one resident who had what is defined as an exposure. That resident was put on isolation with full PPE on Wednesday and will remain quarantined as a precaution for 14 days from the date of exposure. We have started contact tracing for the second staff member but, thankfully, exposure risk is expected to be minimal because of the length of quarantine.
Resident testing will be done at least weekly and as circumstances dictate. I will continue to keep you updated on the status of resident and staff test results while still complying with privacy requirements.
Sincerely,
Linda Smith NHA
Administrator
