Update from Administrator 9-14-21
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We were notified this afternoon that we had a staff person in the nursing home test positive for COVID-19 during our testing this past weekend. We conducted a contact investigation to determine if any residents or staff had a potential exposure. We have no residents identified as high risk for exposure, however, we will conduct testing for those residents who may have had contact with the staff person. There is no quarantine required at this time. We will continue to test residents and staff per the CDC guidance and will be closely monitoring for symptoms. Any resident or staff person who develops symptoms will be placed on precautions and tested immediately.
Family visits will continue in the nursing home and will resume in The Meadows this week. Outdoor visits are encouraged as an extra safety measure, however, indoor visits in our visiting areas are allowed. As a reminder if a resident is put in quarantine due to an exposure or is placed on precautions after testing positive for COVID they will not be able to receive visitors until they meet criteria to come off of quarantine. Window visits are allowed in those circumstances. The safety measures are required per CMS regulations and are in place for the safety and well-being of residents, staff and visitors.
Face masks are absolutely required for all visits due to the very high level of COVID-19 spread in our area. I encourage families to call ahead when visiting to be sure that visiting areas are available and there are no restrictions in place.
I will continue to keep you informed of any developments. Please reach out with any questions or concerns!
Stay well,
Linda Smith NHA
