Update from Administrator 10-1-23
DATE: 10/01/2023
Dear Residents, Families and Representatives,
We had one staff person test positive for COVID-19 today so we are now back into outbreak status. We are conducting contact tracing to determine who may need follow up testing are monitoring residents for symptoms. We have no residents with COVID-19 at this time. Symptoms of COVID-19 include runny/stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, body aches, diarrhea, vomiting and headache. Residents should notify staff immediately if they are not feeling well.
We will continue with mandatory masking for staff and visitors until we are out of outbreak and the level of COVID in the community is coming back down. There has been a steady rise in COVID cases throughout Wisconsin in recent weeks. Preventive measures include good hand washing, surface disinfection, wearing masks and use of hand sanitizer.
Residents may continue to have visitors, however, we are encouraging use of good safety measures. Visitors must wear masks, use good hand hygiene and check with staff for other required personal protective equipment that may be needed if a resident is on precautions. Visitors should also limit visits to only their resident and maintain distance from other residents and staff. If visitors have any symptoms of illness they should postpone visiting until they are feeling better and symptoms are gone.
We are working with the Monroe County Health Department to set up COVID-19 vaccine clinics for residents and staff. They should be receiving vaccines soon and more information will be sent out at that time.
I will keep you informed of any new staff or resident cases. We are in outbreak status until we have 14 days with no further staff or resident cases. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Linda Smith LNHA
