Rolling Hills News for December
Rolling Hills News for December

We begin by wishing our friends a happy birthday this month: Margaret, Brian, Karl, Alvina, Judy and Don.
Some of us had the opportunity to go shopping last month and enjoyed getting out to Walmart and the Dollar store. It is amazing to see all the holiday decorations out so early! Some of the men in our group had a very nice luncheon at the VFW to honor them for Veteran’s Day. This event was well attended and all the hard work put on by the volunteers was a delight. One in our group decided to attend the Sparta Thanksgiving meal. She shared she had a wonderful time, a great meal and was proud of Sparta for doing this. She even brought back a delicious pumpkin pie to share with her friends here. With Thanksgiving time, we are thankful for so many things. These include our family and friends and also all of the volunteers-human and animal- that come and spend time with us throughout the year!
With the holiday season upon us, we have had volunteers and staff already preparing our home. The outside decorations were started by the students of Bangor High School during their community service day. Some of those in attendance also talked about the crafts they have worked on that can be seen on doors and bulletin boards throughout the home as well. As we are writing this, some of us are busy putting up one of many trees and decorating one of many rooms in our home. The decorations are so beautiful. We are also looking forward to all the Christmas music. When we discussed this, some of us began singing or humming our favorite tunes including Jingle Bells, Walking in a Winter Wonderland and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Our favorite holiday traditions have included caroling, baking cookies and our families getting together.
We want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy making memories with your loved ones during the most wonderful time of the year!
